Vauxhall Zafira Tourer gets the BiTurbo treatment

The Zafira Tourer range is now getting the BiTurbo treatment, and we think that this is great news. It means another range-topping model which is very conscious of its green credentials. The BiTurbo models feature 162bhp twin-turbo diesel engines and Vauxhall claim that these will be efficient and capable of 50.4mpg whilst emitting only 149/km of CO2 with a little help from the stop-start technology which will come as standard.

This is not bad at all, especially for a large 7 seater like the Zafira Tourer. What’s more, its performance doesn’t sound too shabby either, so lovers of power and speed shouldn’t be too disappointed. Apparently it can do 0-60mph in 8.5 seconds, and it can also achieve a top speed of 135mph, again, when you consider the type of car the Vauxhall Zafira Tourer is; this is impressive.

Whilst you get the stop-start technology you may have to spend a little extra if you want the AFL adaptive headlights, panoramic windscreen or FlexRide adaptive chassis control system. The announced starting price sits at £27,685, you can order now and the first deliveries are expected in spring. There are plenty of used car websites out there with massive selections when it comes to the Zafira, so make sure you establish whether or not you are looking at a Zafira with the BiTurbo engine.
